This map, created by Ruy Pinto Schaffroth, shows the comparative size of Peru and several European countries.

Peru, with an area of 1.28 million square kilometres, is the third largest country in South America and the nineteenth largest in the world. This map compares its size with that of several European countries: Germany, Wales, the Netherlands, Luxembourg, Switzerland, Portugal, Belgium, Italy, England and Scotland. Together, they cover 1.09 million square kilometres, leaving enough space for a country almost the size of Romania.
