The true size of Argentina (2014)

This map, created by Ruy Pinto Schaffroth, shows the comparative size of Argentina and several European countries.

Argentina, with an area of 2.78 million square kilometres, is the second largest country in South America and the eighth largest in the world. This map compares its size with that of several European countries: Spain, Portugal, France, Germany, Switzerland, Albania, the Netherlands, Ireland, Luxembourg, Belgium, Austria, Hungary, Denmark, the Czech Republic, Serbia, Lithuania, Latvia, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Slovenia, and Estonia. Together, they cover 2.29 million square kilometres, leaving enough space for a country the size of Poland.
