The true size of Uruguay (2022)

This map, created by Ruy Pinto Schaffroth, shows the comparative size of Uruguay and several European countries.

To do this, it shows four maps of Uruguay, comparing each one with different countries in Europe to achieve a size approximately equal to that of Uruguay (176,215 square kilometres):

• Top left: Portugal and Ireland.
• Top right: Netherlands, Belgium, Slovenia, and Switzerland.
• Bottom left: England, Wales, and Northern Ireland.
• Bottom right: Austria and Scotland.
