Christianity in the Middle East (2024)

This map, created by The World in Maps in 2024, shows the percentage of Christians in Middle Eastern countries, according to data from Pew Research.

Despite being a predominantly Islamic region, there are significant Christian populations in many countries in the Middle East. On this map, countries with the highest percentage of Christians are shown in dark blue.

Historically, countries such as Egypt, Lebanon, and Syria have had significant Christian communities that have played a fundamental role in the internal politics of the country. Other countries with high percentages, such as Kuwait and Qatar, correspond to immigrant communities that generally do not have the nationality of the country.
