Domestic routes are marked in blue and international routes, many of which are intercontinental, are marked in red. The ten busiest routes are as follows:
- Heathrow Airport, London (United Kingdom) – John F. Kennedy Airport, New York (United States).
- Heathrow Airport, London (United Kingdom) – Dubai (United Arab Emirates).
- Sabiha Gökçen Airport, Istanbul (Turkey) – Antalya (Turkey)
- El Prat Airport, Barcelona (Spain) – Palma de Mallorca (Spain).
- Atatürk Airport, Istanbul (Turkey) – Imam Khomeini Airport, Tehran (Iran)
- Atatürk Airport, Istanbul (Turkey) – Antalya (Turkey)
- Barajas Airport, Madrid (Spain) – Palma de Mallorca (Spain).
- Oslo (Norway) – Trondheim (Norway).
- Orly Airport, Paris (France) – Nice (France).
- Oslo (Norway) – Bergen (Norway).
Many of the air routes that had historically been the busiest, such as Madrid-Barcelona, Milan-Rome and Paris-Lyon, have fallen significantly in popularity due to the rise of high-speed trains in Europe.
