Map of domestic air routes (2021)

This map, created by Reddit user phaj19 in 2021, shows all domestic air routes worldwide, according to data from OpenFlights.

The author represents all domestic flights worldwide using straight lines, with a different colour for each country. The high density of countries such as China and the United States is striking, where the lines form polygons that obscure the lines themselves. Similarly, high population density can also be observed in countries such as Italy, France, Spain and Turkey.

In Africa and, to a lesser extent, in South America, the density of domestic flights is very low, with the exception of some countries such as Brazil, Argentina, Colombia, and South Africa.
