Territorial claims in Antarctica (2021)

This map, created by the website Visual Capitalist, shows the territorial claims of seven countries (Norway, the United Kingdom, France, Argentina, Chile, New Zealand and Australia) in Antarctica. These claims are not recognised by the international community. Similarly, countries such as the United States and Russia, despite not currently having any territorial claims, reserve the right to make them in the future.

In addition to territorial claims, the map also shows all permanent stations on the Antarctic continent.

In the newsletter, I discussed the discovery and conquest of Antarctica., You can read it here..
