Map of Greater Armenia (1979)

This map, published by Suren Yeremian in 1979, shows the extent of the Kingdom of Armenia, also known as Greater Armenia, between the years 298 and 385. It is written solely in Armenian.

The author marks the borders of the Kingdom of Armenia after the signing of the Peace of Nisibis with a red line. From that moment on, Armenia became a vassal state of the Roman Empire, which helped it maintain its independence for almost a hundred years despite Persian pressure.

The map includes a wealth of detail about the towns and provinces into which the Kingdom of Armenia was divided, and is possibly the finest cartographic work of this period to date. To achieve this, Yeremian compiled information from all available historical sources over several decades.
