Physical map of Costa Rica (1962)

This map, published by the National Geographic Institute of Costa Rica in 1962, shows the physical geography of the country.

The different colours represent the altitude of Costa Rica's territory at each point on the map. Greenish colours denote areas closest to sea level, while grey, red and white show the highest peaks, such as Cerro Chirripó, with an altitude of 3,821 metres.

The map also shows the main roads in red and the railway lines that existed in the country in 1962 in black with stripes.
