The tallest buildings in Europe (2023)

This map was published Andrew J. Van Leuven in 2023 as part of the initiative #30DayMapChallenge.

The map uses a colour gradient to represent the height of the tallest building in each European country, with the exception of Belarus, Russia, Moldova, and Ukraine:

  • Purple – Blue: countries whose tallest building does not exceed 100 metres.
  • Blue – Turquoise: countries whose tallest building is between 100 and 200 metres high.
  • Turquoise – Green – Yellow: countries whose tallest building is between 200 and 300 metres high.
  • Yellow: countries whose tallest building exceeds 300 metres.

Turkey appears in yellow-green, ranking third thanks to Skyland Istanbul (284 metres). Above 300 metres are only the United Kingdom, with The Shard (310 metres), and Poland, with Varso (310 metres).

You can find more information about the initiative here. #30DayMapChallenge in what I wrote in the newsletter.
