This map, created by the illustrator Jakub Marian, represents the legal situation of prostitution in Europe.

To this end, the map uses different colours to illustrate the main differences.

  • GreenProstitution is legal and regulated, and includes brothels.
  • Turquoise blueProstitution is legal and regulated, but brothels are excluded.
  • BlueProstitution is alegal and unregulated, but brothels are illegal.
  • PurpleProstitution is illegal and penalties are imposed on the consumer (offering services is not a problem).
  • RedProstitution is illegal and penalties are imposed on the salesperson (There is no penalty for using the services).

The figures shown in purple and red correspond to fines associated with the illegality of the practice.
