This map, created by Marcus Lu for the website Visual Capitalist, shows the 25 countries with the most embassies abroad, according to data from the think tank Lowy Institute.

The number includes embassies operating outside the national territory of each country, as well as high commissions in the case of Commonwealth countries.

The countries on this list correlate strongly with those that currently have the world's strongest economies. In fact, of the 25 countries included on this map, only three are not among the world's 25 largest economies (the Czech Republic, Pakistan and Hungary), and of the world's 25 strongest economies, only Mexico, Belgium and Ireland are missing from this map.
