The Yellow Butterflies of García Márquez (2020)

This map was published Andrés Felipe Lancheros Sánchez in 2020 as part of the initiative #30DayMapChallenge.

The Phoebis philea, also known as the Orange-banded Sulphur Butterfly, is a butterfly that, among other things, is known for appearing in one of the most important books in Spanish literature, One Hundred Years of Solitude, by Gabriel García Márquez.

This map shows the distribution of this species based on reports of the species, according to data provided by iNaturalist.

You can find more information about the initiative here. #30DayMapChallenge in what I wrote in the newsletter.
