This map, published Perrin Remounted In 2024, Europe is divided into two major hydrological basins. The entire territory whose water flows into the Mediterranean Sea is shown in red, and the territory whose water flows into the Atlantic Ocean is shown in blue.
Looking at this map of Europe, it may be surprising how much of southern Germany, despite being north of the Alps, has rivers that flow into the Black Sea via the Danube. Something similar happens in the south of the Basque Country and Logroño, whose rivers flow into the Mediterranean via the Ebro.
