Map of the city of Palencia, published in 1918 in Barcelona by Alberto Martín, with information provided and reviewed by the City Council. It is currently part of the National Geographic Institute's Map Library.
The map shows how almost the entire city was contained between the River Carrión to the south-west and the railway line to the north-east. During the 20th century, the city continued to expand towards the south-east, but new neighbourhoods were also created on the other side of the railway tracks.
Despite being a map from 1918, it still includes part of the Palencia city wall, corresponding to the Ronda del Estudio. This section of the wall was the last to be demolished, in 1917.
