Political map of Paraguay (1993)

This map of Paraguay was published in 1993 by the Directorate of the Military Geographic Service of Paraguay.

The map shows in different colours the 17 departments into which the country is divided: Concepción, San Pedro, Cordillera, Guairá, Caaguazú, Caazapá, Itapúa, Misiones, Paraguarí, Alto Paraná, Central, Ñeembucú, Amambay, Canindeyú, Presidente Hayes, Alto Paraguay and Boquerón. The last three departments, the largest, make up the Western (Chaco) region, while the rest make up the Eastern (Paraná) region.

A map of Asunción, the capital, and its surroundings is also shown at the bottom left. The city of Asunción has the same status as the other 17 departments.
