This map, drawn in 1907 by Edward P. Mayes, shows the territorial administration of Honduras.
The map shows all 17 departments in Honduras (Ocotepeque, Copán, Gracias, Santa Bárbara, Intibucá, La Paz, Cortés, Comayagua, Atlántida, Yoro, Tegucigalpa, Valle, Choluteca, Paraíso, Colón, Islas de la Bahía, Olancho) and the Mosquitia region.
The territorial division of Honduras at that time was already very similar to the current one. In 1943, the department of Gracias was renamed Lempira and the department of Tegucigalpa was renamed Francisco Morazán. In 1957, a reorganisation took place in the eastern region of the country, which saw the disappearance of the Comarca de la Mosquitia, slight changes to the borders of some departments, and the creation of the department of Gracias a Dios.
