Arctic Ocean ocean currents (2023)

This map was published Gaëlle Sutton in 2023 as part of the initiative #30DayMapChallenge.

The author uses orange arrows to show the complex network of sea currents that make up the Arctic Ocean.

Broadly speaking, there is a predominant current that enters through the Bering Strait and runs along the entire north coast of North America until it reaches the Labrador Sea. The other predominant current enters through the North Sea, runs along the entire north coast of Asia, then moves towards Greenland, finally exiting between Greenland and Iceland.

You can find more information about the initiative here. #30DayMapChallenge in what I wrote in the newsletter.
