This illustration, created by Terence Teo, represents Sweden's population density on a three-dimensional map. To do this, Terence extracted the data available at Kontur Population with which it generates columns using a programme, with a height that represents the population density at each point.
This map of Sweden shows the different population peaks in its most populated metropolitan areas: Stockholm, Gothenburg and Malmö. You can see the large difference in population density between the southern part of the country and the northern part, where there are hardly any towns of significant size.
