This illustration, created by Terence Teo, represents the population density of Burma (Myanmar) on a three-dimensional map. To do this, Terence extracted the data available at Kontur Population with which it generates columns using a programme, with a height that represents the population density at each point.
This map of Burma shows the different population peaks, with the south of the country, where Rangoon (Yangon), the former capital, is located, being the most densely populated. The central part of the country also has a large population, with the current capital, Naypyidaw, and Mandalay being the most notable.
