This map, published Liang Wanmei in 2023, shows the journey of thousands of rubber toys that fell out of a container in 1992.
The story began on 10 January 1992, when the cargo ship Evel Laurel lost twelve containers in the middle of the Pacific Ocean, including one carrying 28,800 rubber toys: red beavers, blue turtles, green frogs and, above all, yellow ducklings.
The map shows the journey taken by many of these yellow ducklings, which followed different ocean currents to end up on the coasts of Australia, Indonesia, Chile, the United States, Canada, Scotland and even France. The illustration also shows the year in which the ducklings arrived on the different coasts, including the surprising ones that appeared in France in 2007, fifteen years after the incident.
