This map, created by Katherine Baxter in 2019, depicts Abraham's journey from Ur to Canaan, as described in the Book of Genesis.
Abraham is one of the most important religious figures, as his tradition encompasses some of the religions with the most followers today, such as Christianity, Islam and Judaism. According to tradition, Abraham travelled with his family from Ur to the plains of Mesopotamia. After spending several years there, God commanded him to go to Canaan, where they settled. Canaan corresponds to the territory currently occupied by Palestine and Israel, between the River Jordan, the Dead Sea and the Mediterranean Sea.
In this map, the author not only describes Abraham's journey, but also takes the opportunity to show some of the places Abraham visited, as well as some monuments of the time, both mythical and real, such as the Tower of Babel, Ur, Damascus, and the pyramids of Giza.
