This map was published by Hugo Fischer in 1933 in the book A battle for Germany (A battle for Germany).
This book is one of the best examples of the Nazi Party's anti-communist propaganda upon its rise to power. According to the book, which was aimed at German businessmen and citizens, a communist state would have been disastrous for the country. Among other claims, the book stated that the Communist Party intended to assassinate all Nazi Party leaders, blow up public buildings, and expropriate the wealth of the wealthy classes.
This map shows the advance of communism from Eastern Europe, with the support of the Soviet Union. The text on the right-hand side, written in German, states that A victory for communism would mean war, and Germany would become the battlefield between the Whites and the Reds.. The reds refer to communism and the whites to capitalism, the other great enemy of the Nazi Party.
This piece was key to the Nazi Party's propaganda when it came to power, as it was used to influence members of parliament to ban opposition parties, including the Communist Party.
