This map, published by Tse Tsan Tai, depicts the world divided among the descendants of Noah's three sons. The illustration is part of a book published in 1914, in which the Chinese journalist and reformist sought to prove that the Garden of Eden was located in Asia. In fact, the map shows Tse's estimated location at the red dot west of China.
Tse's book was published a few years after the Boxer Rebellion, for which all Christian missionaries were severely punished for having supported it.
The map focuses on how, after the Great Flood, Noah's three sons populated the entire world:
- Sem (in yellow): Occupies much of Asia, Oceania, and America.
- Cam (in orange): Occupies India, the Arabian Peninsula and Africa.
- Japheth (in pink): Occupies Europe and a small part of Asia around the Caspian Sea.
