Telegraph map of Venezuela (1904)

This map, published by the Venezuelan Ministry of Public Works in 1904, shows Venezuela's telegraph and submarine cable network.

As can be seen in the upper left corner, where the figure of Cipriano Castro appears, this map seeks to praise the progress made by Venezuela during Castro's term in office after the Liberal Restoration Revolution of 1899. According to the caption, the entire telegraph network was rebuilt and expanded during this period.

On the map, telegraph lines are shown in red and submarine cables in blue. In addition, the boundaries of Venezuela's territory include claims in Brazil and Guyana, which were already disputed at that time.
