This map, created by Kolya Factory in 2024, shows how Homo sapiens migrated from Africa to all corners of the world.
The journey begins in Africa, where Homo sapiens originated. The map shows all movements with white arrows. Around 55,000 years ago, Homo sapiens arrived in the Middle East, where the first interbreeding took place, with Neanderthals. The map shows all subsequent movements in yellow, with the arrival in Europe and Southeast Asia. The second interbreeding occurred in Southeast Asia, with the Denisovans. All subsequent journeys are shown in purple and blue tones.
The various red dots on the map refer to Neanderthal remains, either the presence of DNA in populations or the sites where this species has been found. The purple dots show the presence of Denisovan DNA and sites where Denisovans have been found.
Finally, the map also shows how modern humans arrived in Madagascar from Southeast Asia., the conquest of the Pacific islands and the arrival in America via the Bering Strait.
