Main space bases (2023)

This map was published Gaëlle Sutton in 2023 as part of the initiative #30DayMapChallenge.

The author presents a map showing the location of the world's main space bases and cosmodromes, taking into account only those with at least two rocket launches per year.

In addition, the map includes a paper aeroplane of different sizes departing from each of these bases to show those with the highest activity. Among them are the Russian cosmodromes of Baikonur and Plesetsk, as well as the US space bases at Vandenberg and Cape Canaveral, and the space base at Kourou in French Guiana.
