This map of Tehran, the capital of Iran, was drawn by cartographer Abbas Sahab and published by the Sahab Institute of Geography and Cartography in 1961.
Abbas Sahab is commonly known as the father of modern Iranian cartography, and this is one of his most renowned maps. It is the second edition of a total of three that he produced of the map of Tehran. The map was published in English to give it greater reach, although it also contains relevant annotations in Farsi.
The map contains more than 200 points of interest, including embassies, travel agencies, and hotels, which indicates the map's tourist purpose. All these points are described on the left and right sides and marked on the map with circles with the number of each point of interest written in red. Similarly, all points of interest have coordinates next to their description, making them easy to find on the map.
