Italian Civil War (1943–1945)

This map, created by Emanuele Mastrangelo in 2014, shows the Italian Civil War between 1943 and 1945, between the fall of Fascist Italy and the fall of Nazi Germany.

The entire territory occupied by the Republic of Salò, the puppet state that Nazi Germany established in Italy after the Allies had conquered the south of the country (territories shown in dark grey), is shown in green. All the territories that the Republic of Salò lost between 1943 and 1944 are shown in light green.

In addition, the map also incorporates Nazi Germany's occupations of various territories, such as the Dodecanese islands and Slovenia, as well as the occupations of the Independent State of Croatia.

The red dots visible in northern Italy correspond to areas occupied by partisan armies opposed to the fascist regime and Nazi Germany.
