This map was published by Justine Vignat in 2024 as part of the initiative #30DayMapChallenge.
In this watercolour map, the author organises the territory of Taiwan into three thematic layers, as described in the French legend: the territory's vulnerability to natural hazards, nature and geographical heritage, and local livelihood. With this variety, it manages to be an illustrated map that, instead of focusing on the tourist aspects, gives a more complete picture of the reality.
For example, the animals depicted on the map, such as the pangolin, macaque and panther, are all endemic species of the island that are currently at risk, making the map more than just a decorative illustration.
