Political map of Indochina (1970)

This map of the Indochina Peninsula was published by the CIA in 1970 as part of the Atlas of Indochina. It is currently held in the cartographic collection at the Perry-Castañeda Library (PCL) at the University of Texas at Austin, United States.

The map shows the territorial boundaries of the four countries that existed in the region at that time:

  • Laos, in green.
  • Cambodia, in orange.
  • North Vietnam, in pink.
  • South Vietnam, in yellow.

North Vietnam and South Vietnam still appear separate, as they would remain until their formal reunification in 1976.
