Urban agglomerations in Asia (2023)

This map was published by Raj Bhagat P in 2023 as part of the initiative #30DayMapChallenge.

The map shows urban agglomerations in Asia with more than 300,000 inhabitants, according to data provided by the UN. To do this, the author uses a colour and size gradient, ranging from small yellow circles (cities with 300,000 inhabitants) to the large maroon circle representing Tokyo (37,000,000 inhabitants).

All urban agglomerations with more than 5 million inhabitants are listed under the name of the main city. As can be seen, these coincide with the major capitals of Asia, with the exception of China and India, which include many more cities.

You can find more information about the initiative here. #30DayMapChallenge in what I wrote in the newsletter.
