Population density of Turkey (2022)

This illustration, created by Terence Teo, represents Turkey's population density on a three-dimensional map. To do this, Terence extracted the data available at Kontur Population with which it generates columns using a programme, with a height that represents the population density at each point.

This map of Turkey shows the different population peaks, among which Istanbul stands out as the historical capital of the Ottoman Empire and the most populous city in Europe, with more than 15 million inhabitants. The illustration also shows other important peaks in Ankara, the current capital of Turkey, Izmir, Adana, Gaziantep and Samsun.
