Chapin and published in the magazine\u00a0<em>Time<\/em>\u00a0in November 1941, shows the Soviet Union.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>In November 1941, the United States had not yet entered World War II, but various media outlets had been reporting on the situation in the rest of the world for many years. In this example, Chapin focuses on the Soviet Union, concentrating on the important industrial apparatus. The caption shows, in order: heavy industry, light industry, iron ore mines, coal mines, other mines and oil.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The author also extols the spread of Nazi Germany in Europe, as well as the spread of the Empire of Japan in East Asia.
