This map, published in 1757 by Juan Mart\u00edn Zerme\u00f1o, was part of the project to remodel the fortifications of the square and citadel of Pamplona.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The map details all the fortifications that existed in Pamplona in the mid-18th century, when the Citadel was intact and the entire city (or square) was walled. In addition, there were three outer fortifications that had been built between the late 17th and early 18th centuries: the San Bartolom\u00e9 fort, the Pr\u00edncipe fort and the Cruz de San Roque fort.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

As this is a plan drawn up for a project to improve the fortifications, the map itself shows some very subtle red lines that refer to some of the works in the project. On the left-hand side, in addition to a description of the fortifications, the top part also includes details of all the actions planned to improve the fortifications of Pamplona.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
