The map depicts the state of Cauca during the period of the\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/mapasmilhaud.com\/en\/old-maps\/the-united-states-of-colombia-1883\/\">United States of Colombia<\/a>\u00a0and before the territorial reform that divided Colombia into departments in 1905.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The former state of Cauca bordered the state of Tolima, the state of Antioquia and the state of Bol\u00edvar to the east, the Caribbean Sea to the north, the state of Panama to the north-west, the Pacific Ocean to the west and Ecuador to the south.
