This map shows the great importance of the River Duero in the southern part of the historic city. Most of the city, as it is today, stretched along the northern bank of the river, although in the south there were already three neighbourhoods that still exist today: Barrio de San Frontis, Barrio de Caba\u00f1ales and Barrio de Pinilla.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Like other Spanish capitals, Zamora already had a train station in the northern part of the city, which encouraged the city to expand in that direction, with the Barrio de la Pantoja neighbourhood.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
