This map, created by Álvaro Merino for El Orden Mundial, shows the territorial division of Mexico, with a total of 31 states, each with its respective capital, and Mexico City. The illustration also highlights other important cities that are not state capitals, such as Acapulco, Cancún, and León.
The various rivers that cross the country are marked in blue with their respective names. This map has the problem of marking the Rio Bravo as the Rio Grande, even though the latter name is not used in Mexico.
