This map, published by QS Supplies in 2023, shows the use of bidets in every country in the world.

To this end, the map shows a gradient of browns, with darker shades indicating countries where showers are more commonly used. At the top of the list are Italy, Argentina, Jordan, the Philippines and Saudi Arabia. Italy's leadership can be explained by the fact that it is the only country in the world where bidets are mandatory in all homes built after 1975. At the other end of the spectrum are countries such as Sweden, Norway, the United States, the United Kingdom and the Netherlands.

The data collected for this study is based entirely on information about accommodation available on Booking.com in every country around the world. Although this can be considered a good approximation, it is important to bear in mind that it may be biased, as accommodation is tailored to the expectations of potential tourists.
