This map, created by the illustrator Jakub Marian, shows the percentage of people born in each European country who currently live abroad. It uses data published by the United Nations in 2015.

At the top of the table are, generally speaking, smaller countries, such as Bosnia and Herzegovina (43.3 1Q3Q), Albania (38.8 1Q3Q), North Macedonia (24.8 %–24.7 %), Malta (24.7 %) and Portugal (22.3 %).

At the bottom of the list are larger countries such as Spain (2.7 %), France (3.3 %), Sweden (3.4 %), Norway (3.7 %) and Turkey (4.0 %).
