Population density of Uganda (2023)

This illustration, created by Terence Teo, depicts Uganda’s population density on a three-dimensional map. To do this, Terence has extracted the data available at Kontur Population, using which it generates, via a programme, columns whose height represents the population density at each point.

This map of Uganda shows the overall prominence of the capital, Kampala, and its metropolitan area, in the north-western part of Lake Victoria. Other major cities that stand out on the map are Gulu, in the north; Lira, in the centre; and Mbarara, in the south-west.
