The comparative size of Algeria (2023)

Algeria, with an area of 2.33 million square kilometres, is the largest country in Africa and the tenth largest in the world. This map compares its size with that of several European countries: France, Belgium, Ireland, Albania, Italy, Portugal, Montenegro, the Netherlands, Spain, Switzerland, Austria and Slovenia. Together, they cover 1.77 million square kilometres, leaving enough space for countries such as Poland or Sweden.
