Bear density in Finland (2015)

This illustration, drawn by Annukka Makijarvi in 2015, shows the distribution of bears in Finland, according to data available in 2010.

The most interesting feature of this map is the use of bears, of different shapes and sizes, to delimit each of Finland's regions. The colour of the different bears is used to show the density in that respective region, with green for low densities and red for high densities, the most intense red being used for places with more than 6 bears per 1,000 square kilometres.
