Map of Quito by Charles Marie de La Condamine (1741)

Charles Marie de la Condamine drew this map of Quito in 1741, during his stay in the city as part of his expedition to measure the Earth's meridian in the Ecuador region.

The map shows buildings, roads, vegetation, topography and rivers in the city. The legend is accompanied by numbers and letters to designate churches, religious congregations and places of general interest.
